About Me
Materials scientist turned product leader. A whole career built where atoms meet bits.
Now
I'm currently a Principal Product Manager at Samsara, working on the connected operations platform that keeps the world's physical operations — fleets, equipment, and the people who run them — safe, efficient, and online. It's hardware and software, deeply intertwined, which is exactly the kind of super-interesting, super-complex problem I can't resist.
Before Samsara, I was a Senior Product Manager on the Hardware team at Toast, focused on the networking hardware and software — read: routers and WiFi — that helps restaurants thrive.
I have a few hobbies that I squeeze into my (limited) free time, including playing all manner of instruments, singing, cooking, DJing, and swing dancing.
The Path
-
2010 · Act I
University of Pennsylvania
B.S.E. and M.S.E. in Materials Science and Engineering. Internships along the way at Rutgers University, AMI Partners, and L'Oréal — and a fateful sandwich craving that led to a swing dance troupe.
-
2015 · Act II
Ph.D., Princeton University
Electrical Engineering and Materials Science with Professor Dan Steingart. I researched non-destructive ways to interrogate the materials properties of batteries while in use — using the power of ultrasound. That work led to patents on predicting battery state of charge and health from acoustic signals.
-
Act III
Exponent
Engineering consultant focused on all things batteries, energy storage, and consumer electronics.
-
Act IV
Toast — Senior Product Manager, Hardware
Networking hardware and software that keeps restaurants online and thriving — my first chapter in product, at the intersection of atoms and bits.
-
Now · Act V
Samsara — Principal Product Manager
Building for the world of physical operations: connected hardware, sensor data, and the software that turns it all into safer, more efficient work.
The Other Half
Engineering is only the day job. There's also a bass guitar, a DJ rig, and a dance floor.
